Danko Jones podcast
One of my favourite thing I worked on this year was helping edit international rock ‘n’ roll star Danko Jones’ new book I’ve Got Something To Say.
To help promote said book Danko had me on his long-running podcast in the fall.
We didn’t actually do much “promotion” of the book, but we sure had a time gossiping and light trash talking all sorts of things music.

Bruce Lee in action
Last month was the 45th anniversary of martial arts action star Bruce Lee’s death.
One of the ways the occasion is being marked is with a thorough biography being released called Bruce Lee: A Life, written by Matthew Polly.
Sarah shed some details on the new book for Asian World Of Martial Arts.

Best Canadian Sports Writing, available via ECW Press.
As the year winds down, please consider this a friendly reminder that Sarah had multiple stories published in the Best Canadian Sports Writing anthology put out by ECW Press in the fall.
There’s a more detailed explanation of what’s in the book at the ECW site.
You should probably buy it.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
The Risky Fuel household is particularly pro-John le Carré and pretty much support all the author does while writing about spies with father issues who constantly get betrayed by the institutions they served.
Sarah argues these broken men, full of feelings, represent a better vision for masculinity than the traditional dude hero type.
She explained why in an essay for Electric Lit.

Sarah has a contribution in The Broadview Anthology of Expository Prose – Third Canadian Edition.
It’s kind of a big deal considering the collection also has pieces from Margaret Atwood, Justin Trudeau, Zadie Smith and many more.
