Trailer Park Boys
While you weren’t paying attention, Bubbles, Julian and Ricky, the reprobates that make up the Trailer Park Boys, have gone international.
Thanks to a new deal with Netflix for multiple seasons and a cussin’ movie called SwearNet the boys are poised to critical mass. That, or at least get the opportunity to get drunk and stoned in strange places.
With this in mind I had the opportunity to talk about music with the Boys for AUX. Some of the topics covered: Rush, Loverboy, Shania Twain and the trailer park hip-hop genre.
Not included in the interview: my attempts to get them to compare Joel Plaskett to Groot.

Heart
Heart have long been stereotype destroyers, proving that gals do rock and such.
Now they’ve broken another gender barrier because band guitarist Nancy Wilson says her and her sister/Heart vocalist Ann Wilson love nerd prog band Rush.

May Day celebration
When the most recent May Day went by we marked the occasion because we here at Risky Fuel are firmly on the side of the working people of the world.
The result was a list of 15 songs for working class heroes, including numbers by John Lennon, R.E.M. and Rush.

Scenes From American Idiot, The Musical
There’s been a lot of talk in the Risky Fuel household over the years about things like Pippin, Cabaret, and Hair. All of it by Sarah.
She’s moderately obsessed with musicals and has crafted a number of fake ones in her head. It would seem the enablers at AUX TV thought it would be cute to set her loose and reveal some of these ideas. The result: storylines for musicals about Bon Jovi, Arcade Fire, Rush, The Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre, Joel Plaskett, and the topper, a gay love triangle called Heavy Metal: The Musical set to Judas Priest songs.
