Rowdy Ronda Rousey has become a professional wrestler and joined the WWE.
This has lightning shocked wrestling fans with very similarly complicated feelings to the ones mixed martial arts fans felt when Rousey was on top of that sport.

That’s why when I watched season three of the hilarious show Letterkenny awhile back I realized much of the dialogue could be converted into rippin’ band names.

RIP Laura Palmer
When Twin Peaks debuted in 1990 it basically launched a genre — pretty blonde girl gets murdered in small town, everything goes bonkers.
But what if you actually lived in a real town where something like that happened?
Sarah did. She lived in Welland, Ontario around the time the truly evil pair of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka were terrorizing the Niagara area.
She wrote about what it was like at that time in a feature story for Consequence of Sound’s Twin Peaks Week series.

Atypical
There’s new tool in the character creation toolbox of film and television writers in 2017 — autism.
Want to make a character a little bit different? Sprinkle some autism on him.
Shows like Atypical and The Good Doctor have done this. They’ve been far from perfect, though.

Kosho demonstration
In Sarah’s beloved 50 year old spy television show The Prisoner it features a mostly-made up martial art known as Kosho.
“Mostly” because there are a few real-world examples of people trying to bring to life this single-boxing-glove-wearing, grapple-on-trampolines conceptual martial art.
Sarah actually managed to track down someone who has tried to compete in “real” kosho and asked him what it was like in her first piece for Jet Li’s very good website.
