One of the athletes that Sarah’s benefactors at Asian World Of Martial Arts sponsors is teenage breakout star Kieran Tamondong.

Tamondong did a pile of high-profile things in 2016, but there’s probably no better indicator that he’s on his way than the fact that he was in a Beyonce video.

Beyonce Backs Ronda Rousey

Perhaps as a response to Taylor Swift’s uncomfortably vampiric need to bring famous women onstage as part of her concerts, the Queen B Beyonce recently shared a bit of gal power from the stage in Philadelphia with another strong woman — MMA fighter Ronda Rousey.

Now, Rousey didn’t actually appear on stage with Beyonce. But Beyonce used Rousey’s increasingly iconic “Do Nothing Bitch” speech to introduce her song “Diva.”

Sarah wrote about this natural coming together of elemental forces for Fightland.

When Ron Howard blew into Toronto for TIFF recently he held a Q&A session after the screening of his Jay-Z documentary Made In America.

Sarah was there for the event and wrote a story about it.

One of the things Howard said: “I was watching Jay-Z and I thought of Frank Sinatra. Which doesn’t really make sense. But good is good.”
