On the Strombocast
Due to the Winter Olympics my employer George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight has been pre-empted or in off-hour reruns for the last week.
This has made the staff a wee bit restless. So to combat that we’ve started doing something called the Strombocast — a sort of news roundup of interesting things that happen each day.
I made an appearance on the February 11 edition, offering up a musical recommendation for George.

Beyonce
Valentine’s Day was yesterday and Sarah was tasked with executing some counterprogramming for it.
She composed a list of great and empowering songs for all the single folks out in the world.

Luge
You may have noticed that the Winter Olympics have officially started in Sochi, Russia.
To celebrate this Sarah compiled a list of songs inspired by Winter Olympic sports like biathalon, bobsleigh and, our personal fave, alpine skiing (as interpreted uniquely by Pansy Division).

So there’s an Irish artist named David Balfe who finds mixed martial arts fighter Joe Lauzon pretty inspiring.
This, naturally, seemed like the perfect sort of assignment for Sarah to do for Fightland. So she interviewed Balfe.

Holy Fuck Kitten Bowl
Something called the Super Bowl happened over the weekend.
We didn’t really care.
