Hayden’s New Social Scene

Hayden

Hayden

Back in the late 1990s my first ever-cover story for Chart Magazine (RIP) was with grumbling indie moper Hayden. Now, some 15 years later Sarah has interviewed the spotlight-shy singer to promote his new album Us Alone.

In Sarah’s story Hayden talks about his new affiliation with Broken Social Scene’s record label Arts & Crafts as well as his new, family-friendly worldview. More importantly, her story indicates that, in one way or another, Hayden has been helping to feed the Risky Fuel household for 15 years now.

Grammy Awards & Other Stuff News Pack

Ben Folds Five

Ben Folds Five

The Grammy Awards are tomorrow so I’ve had to put together a few different mini-pieces to help advance that event. These include:

Tegan And Sara accusing their mom of being high.

Melanie Fiona assessing her chances of beating Beyonce.

And the important internet grabber, “what time are the Grammys?”

I did a few other briefs recently, including:

Another SEO-bait story “what time is the Super Bowl?”

And the story of Ben Folds Five encountering characters from Fraggle Rock.

11 Great Models Turned Musicians

Karen Elson and Kate Moss

Karen Elson and Kate Moss

In the way that only savvy content creators like us here at Risky Fuel are capable of, Sarah recently did a reverse-y of her recent 10 Great Musicians Turned Models feature and wrote up 11 Great Models Turned Musicians for Spinner.

It was illuminating because we now know that Kate Moss has performed with some really great bands — which is kinda infuriating. Other names on the list include Grace Jones and Jack White’s ex, Karen Elson.

This Week In Music History (January 27 – February 2)

Beatles on the roof

Beatles on the roof

My latest “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.

In this edition we celebrate the Beatles last live performance ever… on a rooftop, remember that time Michael Jackson‘s hair caught on fire, and lament The White Stripes packing it in.
