Sigur Ros Spy Cam Movie Is Making Film Nerds Nutty

Sigur Ros

Sigur Ros

There’s a new Sigur Ros concert film called INNI that’s been making all the hipster film nerds crazy with its grainy black-and-white footage, its intimate up-nose camera shots and other goodness.

Sarah spoke to director Vincent Morriset about the film for Spinner Canada. You can read about it by clicking here.

Does U2 Still Matter?

U2

U2

A couple months ago the band U2 came to Toronto and were going on about their slide into irrelevance. Bono talked about it happening, but we were wondering if it was mathematically true. So Aaron went and polled 50 of his music industry acquaintances and asked them, “Are U2 still musically relevant?” And if they answered no, then he asked them what album it was that made them decide to no longer follow.

The results of said poll can be read, complete with a vibrant series of arguments in the comments section, over at Maclean’s by clicking here.

In the meantime, Aaron would like to thank the following people:

Ultimate Moshpit Workout Tips

Greg Puciato

Greg Puciato

Sarah has a secret bread-winning life as a personal trainer. So when the folks at AUX TV were discussing how hypnotic they found Dillinger Escape Plan singer Greg Puciato’s muscles, they knew just who they should bring into the discussion.

The resulting story, 5 Easy Steps To Look Like Greg Puciato From Dillinger Escape Plan (From A Real Trainer), will legit get you ripped enough to not only survive the wall of death the next mosh pit you’re in, but be the wall of death. Oh, and the cheeky gal wrote the whole thing in that exact perky tone that you get out of all those workout magazine. Sly.

The Revolutionary Qualities Of The Cure’s “Mint Car”

The Cure enjoy mint cars

The Cure enjoy mint cars

Risky Fuel operatives are most excited to add another new friend to our gang — AUX TV.

The digital channel and website with the fightingest spirit thought Sarah’s essay about The Cure’s happy-go-lucky song “Mint Car” would, somehow, be perfect as part of their Revolutionaries Month content series. We applaud this bravery and believe it should be celebrated… by actually reading the story and getting them some click-throughs. To do so, surf over here.

Chris Isaak Will Sing To You In Interviews

Chris Isaak

Chris Isaak

Update: With Spinner Canada now RIP I’ve unearthed this story here.

Chris Isaak serenaded Aaron last week. Maybe it was because Aaron got a new haircut, maybe it’s because that’s just what Isaak does in media interviews. Either way we’re pretty sure Abro is man-crushing about the whole thing. And really, who could blame him? It’s CHRIS ISAAK.

Anyway, Aaron wrote a story for Spinner Canada about how Isaak thinks if you want to do old time rock ‘n’ roll, you better not be a crap singer.

We agree. And you can read more about it by clicking here.

Also, lest we forget.
