Lucky Them Explores Music Journalism At TIFF

Lucky Them

Lucky Them

One of the films Team Risky Fuel took particular interest in at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival was the fictional look at music journalism Lucky Them.

Having ourselves been warriors on the frontlines of music writing (and idealized poverty) for more than a decade we can say with a certain amount of comfort that they got it reasonably right.

As such Sarah talked to co-screenwriter Emily Wachtel, director Megan Griffiths and star Toni Collette about the film for a feature on Huffington Post Music Canada.

Prince doing the Batdance

Prince doing the Batdance

The recent arrival of the Fan Expo — known casually as “Comic Con North” — to Toronto brought out all of the costumed nerd types.

It also got me thinking about the many superhero songs that exist. So I made a list of 30 of them for Huffington Post Music Canada.

There are songs about Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, The Riddler and a whole bunch more.

To read the list go here.
