Jackie Chan Gets An Academy Award

Despite being the second biggest figure behind a whole film genre (next to Bruce Lee), the Academy Awards have never cared all that much about Jackie Chan and his kung fu movies.

Until now, that is.

This past November at the 8th Annual Governors Awards for the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences they gave Chan one of the four Honorary Awards for being one of the “true pioneers and legends in the crafts.”

To celebrate Sarah did a bunch of pullups, chased some chickens and screamed “Adrian!” all over the place.

‘La La Land’ Is Delightful, Satisfying

La La Land

Big deal Hollywood musical film La La Land is making all sorts of film critics swoon at the notion of romantic old school sing-dance movies.

Sarah, the half of Team Risky Fuel who doesn’t think such movies are stupid, calls the film “gorgeous, often delightful, and quite satisfying.”

TIFF 2016: ‘Arrival’ Elevates Sci Fi

One of Sarah’s favourite films she saw at TIFF 2016 was Denis Villeneuve’s sci fi epic, Arrival.

She says the film reveals “however briefly and however elusively, some truth about what inspires us to do what we do.”
