One of the world’s most legendary comedians also had a bit of a boxing past. And he used it to get laughs for decades.

It seems Bob Hope knew how to throw a punch well enough to have an above-.500 fight record. He found playing the loser got more laughs, though.

Sarah recapped Bob Hope’s boxing past in a story for Fightland.

The Peculiar Encounter With David Cronenberg’s Ghost

Empty movie theater

Empty movie theater

Flea bites. Sleep daze. Antihistamine reactions. Hallucinatory appearances by David Cronenberg.

They were all things that happened during one of Sarah’s strangest experiences at a movie theater.

She recalled the details of her weird trip as part of a compilation feature on Consequence Of Sound about people’s Most Memorable Movie Theater Experiences.

Sarah still has no idea whether the Cronenberg she saw was real or not.

Boy Meets Girl’s Michelle Hendley Was Boldly Cast

Boy Meets Girl

Boy Meets Girl

The new film Boy Meets Girl has a novel (and probably necessary) casting decision. In the film the trans character Ricky is — a rarity — actually played by a trans person, Michelle Hendley.

Hendley was also a nearly raw rookie when they were recruited for the film. Which made the casting decision even more bold.

Sarah talked to Michelle Hendley about the film for Consequence Of Sound.

Today was National Doughnut Day, which in itself is a cause for celebration.

But the day was made even better because Krispy Kreme Canada was giving away free doughnuts at their stores.

Because free doughnuts are amazing I spoke to Krispy Kreme’s Kelcey Hamaker about why they were doing it.

Giving out doughnuts has an origin that goes back almost a hundred years.

Read the full interview about Krispy Kreme’s National Doughnut Day.
