Mother Mother

Shaun Frank’s Not So Overnight Success

Shaun Frank

Shaun Frank

One of the biggest songs of 2016 was The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” featuring Halsey.

That song had a northern secret weapon to it — it  was co-written by Canadian Shaun Frank.

Frank’s had a long road from screamo rock band singer to EDM producer/DJ to #1 hitmaker.

He told me all about it in a feature interview for SOCAN’s Words & Music Magazine.

I talked to her about these things and more in a marquee feature for SOCAN’s Words & Music magazine.

Jazz Cartier’s Very Toronto Album

Jazz Cartier

Jazz Cartier

Drake isn’t the only rapper with a claim to Toronto.

Jazz Cartier, whose excellent debut album Marauding In Paradise is filled with Toronto-isms, is doing a mighty good job of his own to romanticize the 6.

I spoke to him for SOCAN’s Words + Music magazine about the city and how he created his unique cut ‘n’ paste songs.
