The Wallflowers, Jakob Dylan And The Clash’s ‘Sandinista’ Album

The Wallflowers

The Wallflowers

Because Spinner is RIP this story can now be found here.

Not to typecast, but the last people we’d expect to crib from The Clash‘s dance-funk song “The Magnificent Seven” would be The Wallflowers.

But there it is — “Reboot The Mission” — their recent single, complete with a Joe Strummer reference right in the song.

Because Sandinista, The Clash album “The Magnificent Seven” comes from, is one of my favourite records I asked Jakob Dylan all about it.

The resulting story can be read over at Spinner by clicking here.

The Doors

The Doors

My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.

This was one of the weirdest columns I’d done in awhile. There was Jim Morrison of The Doors getting arrested on stage, George Harrison getting stabbed over 40 times by a crazy person, and James Brown in an interstate car chase.

John Lennon

John Lennon

My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.

Technically this was last week’s This Week In Music History column, but I’ve been busy, and sick, so stuff it.  There’s stuff about John Lennon, Black Flag and The Rolling StonesAltamont adventure in there.

10 Great Songs About Zombies

Zombies

Zombies

Sarah has an uneven history with zombies.

You might even go so far as to suggest she hates them.

Her feelings on the undead didn’t stop her, however, when she was asked to compile a list of the best zombie songs for Spinner.

The resulting list featured the likes of Buck 65, Harry Belafonte and Insane Clown Posse.

To read it, go here.

Carmen Electra’s Making Music Again And Talking About Prince And Skrillex

Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra

For those of you not up on your back-in-the-day music history, former Baywatch babe Carmen Electra was once a protege of Prince and put out an album in 1993 that he helped guide.

Then she became a Baywatch babe and never really recorded any more music. Because, well, Baywatch was the biggest show in the world at one point.

Anyway, Electra’s making music again and Sarah talked to her about it for Spinner. Electra wants to do a song with Skrillex.

To read the story go here.

Because Spinner is RIP you can now read this interview here.

Here’s a wonderful video of her called “Go Go Dancer”:
