When B.o.B Met Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift and B.o.B

Taylor Swift and B.o.B

Country sweetheart Taylor Swift and rapper B.o.B have a hit song together called “Both Of Us.”

With that in mind, it was a pretty natural topic of conversation when Sarah spoke to B.o.B recently.

As it turns out, his song with Swift came together pretty naturally, too.

Lollapalooza 1991

Lollapalooza 1991

If you grew of age musically in the “alternative” era just like I did, you probably consider Lollapalooza a pretty big deal.

And that would be because it WAS a big deal.

It turns out the 21st anniversary of the first ever Lollapalooza show happened a couple days ago, so I put together a wee gallery over at Spinner to celebrate.

Polaris People For The Week Of July 13 – Last Look At The 2012 Long List

Polaris Music Prize

Polaris Music Prize

The 2012 Polaris Music Prize Short List will be announced on Tuesday, July 17.

That means this is the last week we have 40 albums — the Long List — still in contention for the big prize before it gets lopped down to 10 records.

With that in mind, this week’s Polaris People focused on dredging up some random factoid or other about each of the Long List albums.

In it the Slakadeliqs find air conditioners, Shooting Guns want to take on Leonard Cohen, and Mark Davis does some gardening.

To read about it, go here.

My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.

Some of the big stuff: Pink Floyd‘s The Wall, the movie, had its debut, that loser Beck was born, and Fatboy Slim had a big beach party.
