No doubt with dollar signs in their eyes and dreams of “the next Ronda Rousey” in their minds, the UFC has fed us a continuously fed us a non-stop diet of Paige VanZant in the last couple years.

Thing is, the upcoming fighter isn’t quite ready for that spotlight and the results have been… uneven.

‘The Fits’ Is Bringing Art Back To Boxing Movies

It could be fairly argued that the boxing movie as a genre has gotten quite predictable and stale.

That’s why new indie movie The Fits is such an intriguing, welcome new film.

Its use of the sweet science is a bold new direction for fight — or at least fight tangential — films.

Shaun Frank’s Not So Overnight Success

One of the biggest songs of 2016 was The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” featuring Halsey.

That song had a northern secret weapon to it — it  was co-written by Canadian Shaun Frank.

Frank’s had a long road from screamo rock band singer to EDM producer/DJ to #1 hitmaker.

He told me all about it in a feature interview for SOCAN’s Words & Music Magazine.
