The Killers and Mitt Romney
When Sarah interviewed The Killers last month the band were careful to appear as politically neutral as possible. They did, however, suggest they though Mitt Romney might have been namedropping them a little bit to appeal to the kids. As in, he was kinda fakey fakerson.
It turns out America agreed.

Billy Ray Cyrus
A couple weeks ago Team Risky Fuel attended a secret Billy Ray Cyrus show at Toronto’s Rivoli club with 100 or so other people. That’s not some bizarre humblebrag so much as it’s a setup to explain why: Sarah interviewed the country singer for Huffington Post Music Canda — that’s why.
During their interview they talked some politics — it’s a thing right now — and Cyrus explained how he had done things for both the Democrats and Republicans in the past. Then he dangled that this week he was going to declare who he was supporting in the election. It turns out that’s going to be Obama.
Also, yes, he played “Achy Breaky Heart” at the show.

Tegan and Sara
I recently spoke to the Sara half of Tegan And Sara and when the topic of the U.S. election came up she was quick to explain that she’s on Barack Obama‘s side. This, because, well, the Democrats don’t want to set fire to the gays or enslave the female race. (My words, not hers, for melodramatic interpretation.)

Presumably you’ve forgotten about this already, but Pussy Riot are still locked up in Russia because Russia’s fucked up.
