This Week In Music History: September 2 – 8

Paris Hilton and Kanye West

Paris Hilton and Kanye West

My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.

This one was particularly exciting because this the anniversary of both Kanye West declaring that President George Bush Jr. hated black people (we’re reasonably onside with this assessment from the usually offside Kanye), and of the wonderful art prank Banksy played on Paris Hilton.

Liam Gallagher of Oasis

My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.

For anyone who had floppy hair and thinks they’re British it was a week to celebrate the debut of OasisDefinitely Maybe album. To guitar geeks it was the week Stevie Ray Vaughan died. And to Elvis fans it was the week that someone almost successfully dug up and stole his dead body.
