In fact, on the day he decided to retire from politics he had just returned from taking his children to a judo class in the middle of a snowstorm.

Talking Werdum-Velasquez On TSN 1050

There was a big heavyweight title unification bout in the UFC on the weekend featuring interim champ Fabricio Werdum and returning-from-lengthy-injury champ Cain Velasquez as part of UFC 188.
It turned out Velasquez had too much ring rust and couldn’t keep up with Werdum.

Gandhi’s Relationship With Martial Arts

What started out as mostly an excuse to talk about the cartoon Clone High turn into an interesting lookback when Sarah wrote about Gandhi’s relationship to martial arts for Fightland.
For a pacifist, Gandhi had at least an observer’s understanding of early jiu jitsu.
What he learned from it, though, was perhaps more political than physical.
