Perhaps inspired by the face we’ve been casually rewatching Clone High here in the Risky Fuel HQ, Sarah recently wrote a piece about the surprising street fighting history of former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln.
Apparently Lincoln wasn’t afraid to throw down to prove a point. Which is perhaps a good reminder of what used to be when we have to look at what we have right now.

Elias Theodorou
UFC fighter Elias Theodorou happens to have a luscious, hypnotic head of hair.
Because of this, he also has a new pitchman contract with Pert Plus shampoo.
And because we a) think this is hilarious, and b) support anything UFC fighters do to earn themselves extra cash in lieu of that shitty Reebok contract they have to work under, Sarah talked to Elias about this development.

Ali… political
There’s a segment of sports fans (generally middle class and higher, always white) that gets incredulous about the notion of athletes being “political.”
These, of course, are probably the same sort of people who’ve never had to experience any of the persecutions and injustices that have made these athletes speak to power.

Amanda Nunes
After UFC women’s bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes beat Ronda Rousey in the ring she also did some verbal beating on the former champ as well, suggesting that Rousey retire.
Nunes now figures what she said was uncool and has formally apologized for it.
In an age where McGregor Mouth™ is the default for most pro fighters this marks a welcome dignified switch up.
