Electro rocker Peaches hasn’t forgotten, though, and Sarah spoke to her recently about the whole Pussy Riot imprisonment thing for Huffington Post Music Canada.

Now that the 2012 Polaris Music Prize has been decided it was pretty clear from my interview with past champ and ’12 nominee Damian Abraham from Fucked Up that he was right when he said his band had no chance of winning for a second time.

Because they didn’t win for a second time.

YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN

One of the most intriguing and least well-known contenders for the now-decided Polaris Music Prize was the kabuki theater heavy metal project YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN.

The band (who prefer to be considered an art collective) use elaborate Asian-themed costumes and props in their pummeling live shows and I got a chance to talk to them about said shows.
