Who’s Billy Ray Cyrus Voting For In The U.S. Election?

Billy Ray Cyrus

Billy Ray Cyrus

A couple weeks ago Team Risky Fuel attended a secret Billy Ray Cyrus show at Toronto’s Rivoli club with 100 or so other people. That’s not some bizarre humblebrag so much as it’s a setup to explain why: Sarah interviewed the country singer for Huffington Post Music Canda — that’s why.

During their interview they talked some politics — it’s a thing right now — and Cyrus explained how he had done things for both the Democrats and Republicans in the past. Then he dangled that this week he was going to declare who he was supporting in the election. It turns out that’s going to be Obama.

Also, yes, he played “Achy Breaky Heart” at the show.

This Week In Musical History: October 21 – 27

Elliott Smith

Elliott Smith

My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.

On the bummer side, this was the anniversary of the week Elliott Smith either committed suicide by stabbing himself in the chest. Or he was murdered? Conspiracy. It’s also the week that man of the people Kid Rock got into a fight at a Waffle House. Noble.

The Killers’ Place In The Class Struggle

The Killers

The Killers

The Reasons Why Tegan And Sara Are Pro-Obama (Gay Rights & Women’s Rights)

Tegan and Sara

Tegan and Sara

I recently spoke to the Sara half of Tegan And Sara and when the topic of the U.S. election came up she was quick to explain that she’s on Barack Obama‘s side. This, because, well, the Democrats don’t want to set fire to the gays or enslave the female race. (My words, not hers, for melodramatic interpretation.)

To actually find out what Sara had to say, head over to Huffington Post Music Canada and read the whole story by clicking here.

Also, stay tuned for another investigative T&S story by me soon about… sweatpants. Yep.
