Iceis Rain Is Fort McMurray’s Only Drag Queen

Iceis Rain

Iceis Rain

When covering the fascinating new documentary Oil Sands Karaoke Sarah felt that Fort McMurray, Alberta’s only drag queen Iceis Rain deserved a bit more attention.

As such, she wrote a profile about Iceis for Vice’s new music site, Noisey. It turns out Iceis is working on a proper music career and is recording an album.

That, and being the only drag queen in Fort McMurray has some perks — “I’m on this website called Plenty of Fish and I get, like, six pages a day of all these straight guys wanting Iceis in Fort McMurray.”

Matthew Good Talks About Next Album ‘Arrows Of Desire’

Matthew Good

Matthew Good

Matthew Good is well on his way to releasing his next album Arrows Of Desire in September and I spoke to him about it upon the release of first single “Had It Coming.”

The album’s a decided return to “rawk” and will sound mighty comforting to any of the many ’90s rock nostalgist who are proudly coming out of the closet after years of shame.

And the song “Had It Coming” is a good time, so… so far, so good.

To find out what else Good had to say about the forthcoming album head over to Huffington Post Music Canada by clicking here.

New Pornographers ‘Pretty Psyched’ About New Music

The New Pornographers

The New Pornographers

When The New Pornographers recently performed a free show in Vancouver on a converted bus for those crazy Red Bull kids Sarah saw it as the perfect opportunity to talk to them. So she did.

The result was a wide-ranging interview for Huffington Post Music Canada where band leader Carl Newman told her about how psyched he was about the band’s new songs.
