Unless you’re a Canadian indie rock fan who received free records in 2000 you probably have no idea who Cookie Duster are. But if you did, the fact that Cookie Duster are back is a big-ish deal. That’s because Cookie Duster are Broken Social Scene’s Brendan Canning and his assorted friends.

Canning went on the Official Danko Jones Podcast recently and announced that his old band was being revived. Aaron then dutifully wrote about it for Spinner. To read the story click here.

Boots Electric, better known as Jesse Hughes, the lead singer for Eagles Of Death Metal, has been letting the world know about his new funk rock solo album Honkey Kong. He’s also been talking about his live show, which includes covers of songs by Amy Winehouse and Olivia Newton-John.

On Saturday Feist played a special “return” show in honour of her new album Metals at CBC’s Glen Gould Studio in Toronto.

There were all kinds of special guest stars like that guy from Wilco, that guy from Grizzly Bear, that other guy from The Hidden Cameras, and a bunch of others.
