Hipster Brooklyn band Chairlift don’t like the Thompson Twins.
We can’t really blame them. After all, TT defined all that was dorky about ’80s synth pop.
But maybe Chairlift doth protest too much. Because they sure sound like the ’80s.

Ian Curtis’ Grave
My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.
This one’s an ugly reminder that Joy Division‘s Ian Curtis is dead. It sucks because Joy Division remain better than most bands. There’s also a similar bummer trip about Frank Sinatra and one that’s half-bummer about Tom Petty.
