Polaris Music Prize Salons And Podcasts In April

Aaron has been busy lately as the official mouthpiece of the Polaris Music Prize.

Here are some of the things he’s let folks know about:

* A Polaris Salon in Vancouver on April 17 focused on Slam Dunk’s album The Shivers.

* A Polaris Salon in Toronto on April 17 initiating the newest Toronto-area jurors into the secret club.

* A Polaris Salon in Montreal on April 28 focused on Marie-Pierre Arthur’s Aux Alentours.

* The release of the free podcast of the Polaris Salon in Vancouver on Feb. 21 courtesy of AUX TV.

While doing some research for my interview with Allyson Baker of the way-awesome Dirty Ghosts I came across this snippet about her old band Teen Crud Combo in my concert diary. I figured it was worth sharing…

Teen Crud Combo @ El Mocambo, June 8, 2000 — I remember them being way obnoxious in a funny, Dan Burke-loves-‘em kinda way. I think they also came out with wrestling belts on. Danko came out and sang a couple songs with them. People were throwing buckets of water on them, which was kinda weird.
