To a certain segment of people — particularly symbolism savvy fans of New Japan Pro Wrestling and the wrestling faction Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) — LIJ leader Tetsuya Naito pretty much represents the struggle.

Naito’s path is a long and complicated one, with high-profile failures, found families and redemptions won in the most unlikely ways. In many respects his journey represents the same twisting, failing, flailing one that so many millennials have experienced.

So much so, that this past summer she made a pilgrimage to Pormeirion, Wales, the unique island where the show was filmed.
