She says the film is “an undeniably stylish but insubstantial concoction that promises probing thrills and delivers little more than listless melodrama and self-satisfied satire.”

Former amateur boxer and current boxing coach and artist Bart van Polanen Petel has been experimenting with ways of turning his love of the sweet science into sweet art.

Nicknamed “Muhammad Dali,” his recent Project Phosphorescence converted punch combinations into a swirling light show that illustrated the fascinating punch trajectories of famous fighters.

To martial arts followers on the snarky side, Nick Delpopolo is an American judo fighter whose career was derailed when he accidentally ate a pot brownie.

At this year’s Olympics he was more of a redemption story than a punchline, finishing seventh overall in his weight class.
