My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.

City And Colour

City And Colour

I interviewed City And Colour‘s Dallas Green awhile back and he gave me a bit of early inside stuff about his upcoming next album.

Basically, it’s not going to be some crazy free jazz freakout. Mostly it’ll be like past City And Colour albums,  featuring “sad sounding, melancholy songs.”

Ice-T Predicts ‘Snoop Lion’ Won’t Last Long

Ice-T & Snoop Lion

Ice-T & Snoop Lion

Ice-T was in Toronto recently for TIFF 2012 to promote his film Iceberg Slim: Portrait Of A Pimp. The film features numerous contributions from rappers talking about the original pimp-poet, including a pre-Rasta conversion Snoop Dogg.

Sarah interviewed Ice-T about the film, and when she had some down time she also asked him about Snoop Lion and Snoop’s other TIFF film, Reincarnated.

Ice doesn’t think “Snoop Lion” is going to last.

Arcade Fire, K’naan Played A Charity Show In Toronto For Eric The Vampire

Arcade Fire

Arcade Fire

To coincide with TIFF 2012 the Arcade Fire, K’naan, Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk performed at a fancy charity show to help Haiti put on by a group called Artists For Peace And Justice.

The party was filled with A-listers like Jude Law and Eric the vampire (Alexander Skarsgard).

Sarah was there. And when she wasn’t somehow constantly running afoul of Paul Haggis (dude, you’re not that important) she managed to write about it for Spinner.
