Remember Limblifter? They were kinda a thing during that first Canadian alternative wave back in the ’90s and early 2000s.
Anyway, Sarah interviewed them for Spinner because they’re reuniting at NXNE.

Jazz softie Norah Jones has a dark side and she’s showing it on her new breakup album Little Broken Hearts.
We always thought there was more to her than muzak when she worked with the likes of Mike Patton and Jack White and with this album, which is produced by Danger Mouse, she proves it.
Sarah talked to Jones about the new album and its murder revenge fantasy ballads for Spinner.

UPDATE: Because Spinner is RIP this story can now be found HERE.
British folk singer Ben Howard had a viral hit by covering Carly Rae Jepsen‘s viral hit “Call Me Maybe.”
Thing is, he’s not actually that fond of the whole experience and actually compared it to going “to the belly of hell.”
We know this because Sarah interviewed him and wrote a story about it for Spinner.

So, monarchy fever seems to have crested with Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee festivities this past weekend and its related Diamond Jubilee BBC Concert.
Being someone who’s connection to Britain is virtually zero (Irish-French heritage, fully Canadian on both sides going back hundreds of years), my knowledge of the royal family has been mostly informed by what cool British rock bands say — and most cool British rock bands don’t like the Queen.
As such, I compiled a list of 12 Great Anti-Royalty Songs as a sort of inverse Diamond Jubilee Concert.
You can check out that list — featuring the likes of Morrissey, Blur and Billy Bragg — over at Spinner by clicking here.

My “This Week In Music History” feature went out again this week over at the Spinner.
Jeff Buckley died this week 15 years ago. That tends to make people sad. I prefer his father Tim, myself. Also celebrating an anniversary this week, the great Franz Ferdinand spy scandal… where Russian authorities thought lead singer Alex Kapranos was an international spy. Oh, and almost 50 years ago this week 11 students were suspended from school for having hair like Jagger, hair like Jagger.
