2012 Polaris Short List announcement
The latest edition of my Polaris People column is online over at the Polaris Music Prize website.
It’s the first in a post-2012 Short List world, so there’s lots of news about nominees like Grimes and Cadence Weapon and some of the more interesting coverage of the announcement.

Polaris Robots
Earlier this week the 2012 Polaris Music Prize Short List got announced.

Polaris Music Prize
The 2012 Polaris Music Prize Short List will be announced on Tuesday, July 17.
That means this is the last week we have 40 albums — the Long List — still in contention for the big prize before it gets lopped down to 10 records.
With that in mind, this week’s Polaris People focused on dredging up some random factoid or other about each of the Long List albums.
In it the Slakadeliqs find air conditioners, Shooting Guns want to take on Leonard Cohen, and Mark Davis does some gardening.
