Eminem vs. Ronda Rousey: Rap Battle?

Ronda Rousey on Jimmy Kimmel

Ronda Rousey on Jimmy Kimmel

Aging rap dad Eminem had some choice words for UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey on his newest song “ShadyXV.”

The champ seems unfazed by his less-than-flattering attentions, though.

Sarah wrote about it all — and fantasized about a bit of a Billie Jean King-style Battle of the Sexes — for Fightland.

Andy Dick vs. Joe Rogan

Andy Dick vs. Joe Rogan

Nineties sitcom NewsRadio was way ahead of the curve in a number of ways.

One that stood out for Sarah was the way the show portrayed mixed martial arts during a time when “human cockfighting” was the dismissive shorthand for the sport.

Sarah wrote about how it went down for Fightland. To read it go here.

Clint Malarchuk, the 1986-87 Rendez-Vous All-Star.

Clint Malarchuk, the 1986-87 Rendez-Vous All-Star.

Clint Malarchuk, the former NHL goaltender best known for suffering a gruesome skate-slash-to-the-neck injury in his playing days, recently attended the Rendezvous With Madness Film Festival to promote his new book The Crazy Game a showing of his ESPN 30 For 30 doc, Cutthroat.

Throughout his playing days and into retirement Malarchuk dealt with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, alcoholism and an undiagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder. The weight of these illnesses eventually led to a suicide attempt.

It didn’t succeed. And after a lengthy rehab Malarchuk has emerged to tell his story.

I spoke with him about it for Samaritan Mag.
